We are looking for candidates with a record of excellent sociological research in the field of sociological theory and experience in empirical sociological research, for example in economic sociology, cultural sociology, or political sociology. The willingness to actively engage in one of the research foci of the faculty and in relevant research centres on the Göttingen Campus is also expected.Applicants are expected to have a “Habilitation“ (or its equivalent) in the field of Sociology, relevant research experience, experience with the acquisition and realization of third-party funded research projects as well as high-ranking, internationally visible publications.
The conditions for appointment are based on Section 25 NHG in its currently valid version. Applicants who have completed their doctorate at the University of Göttingen can generally only be considered if they have worked academically outside the University of Göttingen for at least two years after completing their doctorate. If the requirements are fulfilled, employment will be in the civil service. As a foundation, the University of Göttingen has the right of appointment. Further details can be provided upon request.
