Requisitos:
The ideal candidate will be in the early stages of the Full Professor rank, although a senior Associate Professor may also be considered.  The Head’s position includes a faculty appointment, and the successful candidate must be eligible to hold a tenured position at rank at the University of British Columbia. We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, leadership and management skills, with proven ability to lead and motivate faculty, staff, and students. Field of research specialization can be related to any area of Anthropology, Gender and Women’s Studies, Human Geography or Indigenous Studies. We are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise span at least two of these program areas, and whose leadership will be adept across all four areas.  Desirable attributes include a strong record of published research and external funding as well as prior experience in academic administration and undergraduate and graduate education.

Applications are submitted online in one continuous PDF file to and should include the following items:

(i) a cover letter, addressed to.Dean Silvia Tomaskova, Chair, Head Selection Committee, Department of Community, Culture, and Global Studies, outlining qualification for the position and fit with the CCGS  department and the FASS;

(ii) a curriculum vitae;

(iii) a  2-page statement of research program;

(iv) a  2-page statement on teaching philosophy and interests;

(v) evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., teaching/course evaluations);

(vi) a writing or creative/artistic sample, max 30 pages;

(vii) a 1-page diversity statement (i.e., tell us about your experience working within a diverse environment and your contributions to creating/advancing a culture of equity and inclusion on campus); and,

(viii) the names of three referees who have agreed to submit letters of reference, if requested.
