Requisitos:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in teaching introductory-level courses in the areas of Criminology and Canadian Criminal Justice; the ability to use and to engage students with a range of teaching technologies and methods; the ability to communicate and interact effectively with department members on matters relating to the pedagogy of Criminology; and a demonstrated interest in and commitment to pedagogical development. A Master’s degree in Sociology/Criminology is the minimum requirement for this position; doctoral-level training would be considered an asset, and the candidate will provide evidence of experience and ongoing professional development related to teaching. Duties for this position will normally require teaching a total of 21 credit hours of Criminology and/or Canadian Criminal Justice courses including, but not necessarily limited to, SOC 2510 (Criminology) and/or SOC 2610 (Sociology of Criminal Justice and Corrections) over the academic year. While in-person instruction is the norm, teaching duties may include other delivery modes. The service component of the position will include developing the department’s strengths in the teaching of Criminology, and participating in other service to the department, the Faculty of Arts, and the university. Starting salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
