Requisitos:
The PhD candidates will conduct individual qualitative empirical research with a focus either on the European Union or the United Nations, contribute to joint projects, events, and the dissemination of research output. The position includes doctoral supervision. There are no formal teaching requirements. Requirements: Master’s degree in political science, international relations, political theory, international law or a related area / outstanding analytical and writing skills / high motivation for academic work / excellent command of English (German is an asset) / research experience in at least two of the following areas: (a) European Union, (b) global governance, (c) qualitative research, (d) power and democracy on a global level, e) the United Nations.

Please send your application documents (in English or German) including a cover letter, a short research proposal (1-2 pages) in which you outline your possible contribution to the Research Group, a curriculum vitae, academic certificates, and a reading sample (paper, book chapter or unpublished manuscript), exclusively by e-mail and summarized into a single PDF file (plus reading sample in a separate file) by September 15th 2020 to: bewerbungen@mpil.de. The documents will be deleted after the application process. The interviews will take place during October, if necessary via video conference. Application expenses cannot be covered.
