PHD Vacancy for Research on Basic Income – kuleuven
a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in sociology or another social science discipline (preference will be given to honours degrees);
strong skills in statistical data analysis (experience with quasi-experimental designs is an asset), experience in using large databases, and good knowledge of software packages such as, for example, Stata, R or SAS;
knowledge of qualitative research methods in social sciences (e.g. semi-structured interviews, focus groups) is beneficial
an interest in topics such as social inequality, the effect of social policies on labour market participation and poverty, and attitudes towards the welfare state
sound speaking and writing competences in English and Dutch, preferably also basic knowledge of French (where Dutch language skills are lacking, the candidate is expected to learn the language)
a sense of independence, a creative mind, a strong motivation to work in an international and multilingual team
